MUDAPO: Jan. 18., Fri., Performing Artists' Tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. ~ Just Looking?
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee of Ventura County is pleased to announce MUDAPO, a music-dance-poetry tribute to Dr. King on Friday, January 18, 2013, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Oxnard Room at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, 800 Hobson Way, Oxnard, CA 93030. This new event will kickoff the 27th annual MLK Jr. Day weekend which also includes a Freedom March from Plaza Park and the Birthday Celebration Program at the Performing Arts Center on Monday, January 21, 2013. MUDAPO will feature a diverse line-up of performers from San Diego, Los Angeles, and Ventura County including R&B band Cosolive, poet/songwriter Gill SOTU, actor/poet Paul Mabon, dance troupe Alias, gospel singer Harold Hutton, vocalist Tiffany Bradley, singer/guitarist Dan Flores, comedian Dominic Sandoval, and poet Gerome Hendricks. Refreshments will be served and door prizes awarded at this all-ages event.

Information: Tickets for the program are $7 for either of the two events or $12 for both Friday night and Monday. PAC box office hours are Monday through Saturday, 10am. to 6pm.

From its inception in 1986, the MLK, Jr. Committee has attempted to spotlight the positive achievements and accomplishments of the youth of our community. The non-profit, all-volunteer organization is committed to ensuring that the life and work of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. remains a memorial to social responsibility and equality under the law.
